FAQs For Families

Q: Is there a cost to stay?Mother and father holding their child

A: Due to the generous contributions from members of the community, we do not ask for any contributions from the families to stay. We want to eliminate stress for families as much as possible so they can focus on what matters most - their child.

Q: Are staff members present 24  hours a day?

A: Yes, there is always a staff member present in the House, 24/7/365.

Q: Can grandparents, siblings and other family members stay at the House?

A: Yes, we believe families are stronger when they are together.  Every person that is over the age of 18 who wishes to stay at the House must pass a background check.  We provide one room per family, and each room accommodates 2-4 people comfortably.

Q: Is there a shuttle from the House to the hospital, or vice versa?

A: Yes, there is a shuttle that will take you directly to the hospital.  It is operated 24/7/365.

Q: Do you take reservations?

A: No, we do not.  Because of the unpredictability of hospital stays and limited number of rooms, we are unable to secure or guarantee a room.

Q: Is there a place for me to store my breast milk?

A: Yes, there are several places where guests can store their breast milk.  We also provide individual cooler bags with a lock and key to protect the sanitation of your breast milk supply.

Q: What if I need to travel back home for something, but my child is still in the hospital?

A: We provide a 24-hour pass which allows guests to keep their same room.  We require each family to use the room five (5) nights a week to continue using the room.  All exceptions must be approved by House management.

Q: Can I bring my pets?

A: No, we do not allow pets at this time.  We do allow registered service animals, in accordance with state law.
