A Summer of Hope! Display your name on our HOPE wall at the Peoria House!

As we adopt a “new normal” for Summer 2020 (and possibly beyond), it becomes even more important to remember the children still fighting some of the toughest illnesses. Our families still need help and assistance while their children receive medical care nearby!

If you are looking for a way to give back this summer, please consider making a monetary donation to Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Central Illinois during our Summer of Hope campaign. This exciting time of giving offers donating families and businesses the opportunity to have their name displayed on the HOPE wall—a permanent and prominent feature on the main floor of the Peoria House. We’re accepting donations for this program June 30th through August 31st.

If you have additional questions, reach out to our Springfield and Peoria Houses to learn more. Your support helps make what we do possible.

This event is being rescheduled for late summer or early fall – please check back soon for the date!

Come out and be a “Hero for the House” at our 6th Annual 5k Run/Walk in Washington Park! Sponsored by the Springfield Teen Council, this year’s event is packed with family-friendly, superhero-themed activities, including a 50-yard fun run and face painting. Proceeds from sponsorships, donations and participation all directly benefit our chapter by providing families with the essentials of home—for as long as they need—at no cost to them! To be guaranteed an event t-shirt, you must register by April 20.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Central Illinois Teen Council is a group of high-school age students who have come together to encourage support and awareness of the charity. Through the Teen Council year, students strengthen and develop skills in leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and communication, while supporting the mission of the House to serve children and families.

Give now to keep families close!

Give now to keep families close!

At Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois, our mission is essential and the guiding force behind our efforts as a charity. With the current state of emergency in our country due to COVID-19, we are also responding at the chapter level to ensure the health and safety of the sick children and families we serve. We also wish to protect the hundreds of volunteers who assist our families through their service along with our staff. In order to do so, actions we are taking include:

  • Suspension of our Meals from the Heart program. This is a decision with great impact as we rely heavily on volunteers to prepare meals for our families.  We ask groups, individuals and organizations to kindly consider providing gift cards or monetary donations to support this program while it is suspended. Please visit our donation page to help us continue to provide meals.
  • Tours, other volunteer groups performing service, and community events at our House have been suspended.
  • Some of our staff will be working remotely. Our house program staff will still be providing coverage 24/7 as usual. For questions about our Springfield House, call 217-528-3314 and our Peoria House, call 309-401-2525.

How can you help us at this time? Please visit our wish lists online and assist us through purchases or donations made from the comfort of home.

Like you and many others, we are also in need of hand sanitizer and wipes.

We appreciate your continued support as we all navigate these trying times, remembering the sick children and families served by our charity.

Thank you so much!

Chief Executive Officer

All-In Donation Day for RMHCCI is April 2, 2020!

All-In Donation Day is April 2, 2020!

Our goal is twofold:
raise $30,000 in 24 hours and help fulfill our wish list items.
Are you "All-In" for RMHCCI?

There are 3 simple ways to go All-In for RMHCCI: Give, Share, Ask!

1) Make a gift online - a gift of any amount makes a difference to our families. Your gift will help us maintain our two Houses (Springfield and Peoria) as homes away from home for the families who stay here. All funds raised on All-In Donation Day will be put toward our areas of greatest need, but specific examples of what your gift can do are below.

2) Share a Facebook post about All-In Donation Day.
Not sure what to share? View our toolkit for ideas!

3) Ask a friend to make a gift and share a message about All-In Donation Day on social media, too!

Your gift of each amount below could help us in these ways

  • $10 — cleaning supplies to clean rooms and suites for families
  • $25 — laundry laundry detergent and supplies for family laundry room usage
  • $50 — a new set of sheets for a family's room or suite
  • $88 — the amount we estimate it costs for a family to stay a night.
    • We never ask families to pay for their stay, but your donation of $88 could help share a night with a family!
  • $125 — a portable deep cleaner to aid in room cleaning
  • $250 — a new vacuum for our Houses
  • $500 — a 13 piece cookware set for our Guest Chefs to use in our kitchens

Give a Little Love® at McDonald’s® Restaurants raises funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Central Illinois

Area restaurants provide support to children and families served through local Ronald McDonald House®

McDonald’s® Restaurants of Central Illinois and its local owner-operators will be providing support to Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Central Illinois (RMHCCI) from Monday, January 27, 2020 through Sunday, February 23, 2020 through the annual Give a Little Love® campaign.

To “Give a Little Love,” customers can donate $1 or more at over 100 participating McDonald’s restaurants throughout central Illinois.

Customers who make a donation will have their names displayed on a paper heart in the restaurant. One hundred percent of the proceeds will stay local and benefit the families served by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois. In 2019, more than $240,000 was raised during the Give a Little Love promotion.

The Ronald McDonald House provides the necessities of home for families with a seriously ill child receiving treatment. At RMHCCI, families can stay together and find strength in numbers during a critical time. RMHCCI provides families with a private bed and bath, meals, laundry, parking and more in order to ease the stress of a difficult time in their lives. Families stay at the House at no charge to them, regardless of their length of stay.

The Springfield House currently serves over 400 families each year, and the Peoria House, which opened December 16, 2019, is estimated to serve 700 families annually. RMHCCI depends on the generous support of the community, especially through the Give a Little Love campaign. Support from the community is essential to keep the house running smoothly for their families.
